The Second Executive Council Meeting of Energy Sub-Alliance in University Alliance of the Silk Road (ESA-UASR)

On April 9^th, 2019, sponsored by School of Energy and Power Engineering, the Second Executive Council Meeting of Energy Sub-Alliance in University Alliance of the Silk Road (ESA-UASR) was held in Nanyang Hotel of Xi’an Jiaotong University. Thirteen university and institution representatives from Czech Republic, Italy, Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, Russia, Spain, The United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, and China participated the meeting. The universities and institutions include Khalifa University, Nazarbayev University, University of Pisa, University of Strathclyde, Brno University of Technology, Dagestan State University, Kutateladze Institute of Thermophysics, Pusan National University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Technical University of Madrid, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, and Xi’an Jiaotong University. Mr. Changzhong HE, director of International Exchange and Cooperative Department, Ms. Yanjun LEI, deputy director of International Exchange and Cooperative Department, Prof. Junjie YAN, dean of School of Energy and Power Engineering as well as representatives from Advanced Manufacture Sub-Alliance, Aerospace Sub-Alliance and Chemical Engineering Sub-Alliance from Xi’an Jiaotong University attended the executive council meeting. Prof. Qiuwang WANG hosted the meeting.

Mr. Changzhong HE and Prof. Junjie Yan extended warm welcome to all the participants respectively. Prof. Qiuwang WANG presented an annual report of Energy Sub-Alliance including the founding and progress of Energy Sub-Alliance, the international exchange progress of School of Energy and Power Engineering in 2018, and the preparations for the 2^nd executive council meeting of Energy Sub-alliance. Prof. Qiuwang WANG also proposed some suggestions for the future work of Energy Sub-Alliance in 2019.

Representatives from Energy Sub-Alliance made introductions about teaching, scientific research, international exchange and cooperation of their universities, and provided suggestions for the cooperation modes and contents of Energy Sub-Alliance. They mainly discussed cooperative planning in the field of student cultivation, science and technology competition, and scientific research.

Finally, Ms. Yanjun LEI expressed thanks to all the members of Energy Sub-Alliance and suggested to strengthen the students’ exchanges and scientific research cooperation among members in order to promote the development of University Alliance of the Silk Road.

Background Introduction:

Sponsored by Xi’an Jiaotong University, University Alliance of the Silk Road was founded on May 22^nd, 2015 and its headquarter was located at Western China Overseas Postdoc Innovation Demonstration Center. It aims to develop extensive cooperation with universities in international exchange, talent cultivation, scientific research and construction of think tank. On January 18^th, 2018, Energy Sub-Alliance in University Alliance of the Silk Road was launched by School of Energy and Power Engineering which aims to build cooperation and education platform for professional research institutions, and to advance student training, academic exchange, scientific research as well as high-level talent training in Energy and Environment fields.
