报告人简介：

Bill Nimmo is a Professor in the Energy Engineering Group in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Sheffield. He has a background in chemical and combustion engineering and has over 25 years experience in academia and industry in the areas of; gasification and combustion processes; NOx and SOx emission control methods from power stations; oxy-coal combustion for CCS; biomass combustion; anaerobic digestion and corrosion studies. His activity has been directed toward both fundamental study and at pilot scale and in particular there has been significant recent activity developing the National Pilot Advanced Capture Technologies(PACT) facilities for the UK CCS Research Council. Prof. Nimmo has published over 150 publications including 78 journal articles and has been involved in the supervision of research projects with a total value in excess of £7M over the last 8 years. Prof. Nimmo is a chartered engineer (CEng.) and a Fellow of the Energy Institute and sits on the Executive Committee of the Fuel and Energy Research Forum as Chairman of the Environmental Division. He also sits on the Yorkshire Branch committee of the Energy Institute (EI). Prof. Nimmo’s activities involve close contact with power generation companies and collaboration on joint research projects. As recent Head of the Engineering Graduate School, Bill had membership of several Faculty and University committees. Externally, Bill is a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College and is a Editor in Chief of the Elsevier journal FUEL.
