Patrice Chartrand教授是加拿大蒙特利尔大学工学院化学工程系教授，工学院计算热化学研究中心主任。Chartrand教授已在国际学术期刊和学术会议上发表论文100余篇，并获多项表彰奖励，例如加拿大自然科学与工程研究协同创新奖、法国科学院Grand Prix Alcan奖等。Chartrand教授是热化学计算领域中修正的似化学溶液模型的主要提出者之一，也是FactSage热力学软件和数据库的主要开发者，其课题组研究主要集中在相图的热力学优化和计算、高温熔体的理化性质和热力学性质的计算分析等领域。
Biography
Prof. Patrice Chartrand is currently Professor inDepartment of Chemical Engineeringand co-director of Centre for Research in Computational Thermochemistry (CRCT) atÉcole Polytechniquede Montréal. Chartrand received his Ph.D. and M.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Polytechnique de Montréal in 2000 and 1996, respectively; and a B.S. degree in Materials Science from Polytechnique de Montréal in 1994. His research interests are inthermochemical modeling and calculation of phase diagrams, physico-chemical properties of melts at high temperature, light metal alloys (Al, Mg) and their processing in the liquid state, fertilizers and molten salts/electrolytes. He is author or co-author of over 100 journal or conference publications.He is co-recipient of the NSERC 2012 Synergy Award for Innovation (Leo Derykx Award) supported by Alcoa, RTIT, Teck Metals, GM, Corning, Rio Tinto Alcan, RIST and XStrata. He also received the “Grand Prix Alcan 2007 de l’Académie des Sciences de l’Institut de France” for his research work in Hall-Heroult Process. He is also involved in all aspects of FactSage development: theory/models, databases, industrial applications and training.
