【Introduction】
The Advanced Nuclear Reactor Technology and Nuclear Safety International Summer School is an academic program hosted by Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU). This course brings together leading experts from renowned international institutions to deliver cutting-edge knowledge on fast reactor technology, nuclear safety, and the integration of artificial intelligence in nuclear engineering.
With a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, the program covers four core modules:
1. Global Nuclear Energy Trends and Fast Reactor Positioning
2. Frontiers in Nuclear Reactor Thermal-Hydraulics
3. AI Applications in Nuclear Thermal-Hydraulics
4. Nuclear Reactor Safety Analysis
Participants will engage in 16 hours of intensive lectures, complemented by a 4-hour visit to the China Western Advanced Nuclear Energy Research Institute. The course is designed to foster a deep understanding of advanced nuclear technologies and their global applications, preparing students for future challenges in the field.

【Lecturer Profile】

Professor Wenxi Tian
Professor Wenxi Tian is an outstanding scholar in nuclear science and technology. Currently serving as Dean of the School of Nuclear Science and Technology at Xi’an Jiaotong University, he also leads the Shaanxi Key Laboratory of Advanced Nuclear Energy Technology and heads a national defense innovation team. After earning his Ph.D. from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2006, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Tokyo. His expertise lies in nuclear reactor thermal-hydraulic safety and innovative nuclear power system design, where he has achieved breakthroughs in multi-scale safety analysis. He has led over 30 major research projects, published more than 120 SCI papers, and authored several influential monographs and textbooks. His innovations have earned him numerous awards, including the National Technology Invention Award (Second Prize) and top honors from the Ministry of Education and nuclear industry associations. He serves as editor-in-chief of international journals and holds key positions in professional societies. He has delivered over 30 invited talks globally and founded the NUREC forum.

Professor Guanghui Su
Professor Su Guanghui is a full Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Xi’an Jiaotong University, holding a Ph.D. in Engineering. His research and teaching focus on nuclear reactor thermal-hydraulics and safety. As a distinguished scholar, he has been honored with the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, recognized as a national-level leading talent, and leads a key Ministry of Education Innovation Team. His contributions earned him the Commemorative Medal for the 70th Anniversary of the PRC’s Founding. He served as a Visiting Professor at Hokkaido University and holds leadership roles as Vice Chairman of the Ministry of Education’s Nuclear Engineering Teaching Guidance Committee and Vice President of the China Nuclear Industry Education Association. As Editor-in-Chief of Progress in Nuclear Energy, he influences global nuclear research. His accolades include the National Technology Invention Award (2nd Class), two Ministry of Education Technology Invention Awards (1st Class), the Shaanxi Science and Technology Award (1st Class), and multiple teaching awards. He has authored five seminal books, such as Thermal-Hydraulic Calculation Methods for Nuclear Power Systems and Phenomenology of Severe Accidents in Light Water Reactors, cementing his legacy in nuclear energy education.

Professor Chenglong Wang
Dr. Chenglong Wang is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Xi’an Jiaotong University’s School of Energy and Power Engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in Nuclear Science and Technology in 2016, with a year of research at MIT (2014-2015). Recognized for his academic excellence, he received the Shaanxi Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award (2018) and two Shaanxi Higher Education Science & Technology Awards (2020, 2021). He was also selected for China’s Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program and named one of Xi’an Jiaotong University’s Top Ten Academic Rising Stars.His research focuses on advanced nuclear power technologies, including heat pipe reactors, lead-cooled reactors, and gas-cooled microreactors. He has published 78 SCI papers (as first/corresponding author), including 2 cover articles and 1 highly cited paper, with 1,338 citations and an H-index of 19. He has led 59 research projects, including national key R&D programs and IAEA collaborations. A prolific innovator, he holds 51 patents, 13 software copyrights, and authored 3 books on nuclear reactor design.

Associate Professor Yacine Addad
Dr. Yacine Addad is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at Khalifa University of Science & Technology, UAE, where he also serves as the Deputy Director of the Emirates Nuclear Technology Center (ENTC). With a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester, UK, his research focuses on thermal-hydraulics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), nuclear safety, and multiphase flow systems. Professor Addad has made significant contributions to the UAE's nuclear sector, earning the National Recognition Award from FANR in 2024 for his impactful work. He played a pivotal role in establishing the first Thermal-Hydraulic Laboratory in the UAE and led the re-accreditation of NUCE's MSc. and Ph.D. programs. An active scholar, he has published extensively in top-tier journals, including Physics of Fluids and Applied Thermal Engineering, and serves as an Editor for the Journal of Nuclear Engineering and Design. His leadership extends to professional societies, including the American Nuclear Society (ANS) and the Nuclear Institute (UK), reflecting his dedication to advancing nuclear engineering globally.

Professor Antonio Cammi
Antonio Cammi graduated (cum laude) in Nuclear Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi, Italy), where he also obtained his PhD (cum laude) in Science and Technology of Radiations. He began his academic career at PoliMi, where his research focused on nuclear engineering, particularly reactor dynamics. His work combines reactor physics, thermal-hydraulics, control methods and machine learning in a multiphysics framework. He studies next-generation nuclear reactor designs, with projects on Gen IV reactors, control methods for power plants, and analysis tools for new reactors. His research methods include multiphysics models, reduced-order approaches, machine learning, and object-oriented code development. His academic record includes more than 400 peer-reviewed publications. As a teacher, he has delivered more than 3600 hours of classes at PoliMi (Italy), ENSTA (France), and CentraleSupélec (France). His teaching covers nuclear plant design as well as Dynamics and Control of Nuclear Plants. His course on Experimental Nuclear Reactor Kinetics combines theory with hands-on reactor work at the TRIGA reactor of the University of Pavia (Italy). Advanced topics include Calculations Code methods and Nuclear Reactors Simulations. Throughout his career, he has guided more than 100 master's students and 32 PhD candidates. His research method joins mathematical theory, computer modeling, and laboratory work to nuclear science and technology.

Enrollment: Limited to 100 participants.
