The 5th International Symposium on Thermal-Fluid Dynamics (ISTFD2024) was grandly held at the Huahai Hotel in Xi’an from July 26 to 29. It was jointly organized by Xi’an Jiaotong University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Sheffield Hallam University, the UK National Heat Transfer Committee, the National Key Laboratory of Green Hydrogen and Electricity, and the National Key Laboratory of Aero-Engine Systems and Plasma Technology. More than 150 experts, scholars, and graduate students from 70 universities and research institutions in 15 countries, including the UK, the USA, Australia, Singapore, Turkey, Russia, Iran, Japan, Canada, India, the Republic of South Africa, the Czech Republic, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and China, participated in the conference. Professor Bo-Feng Bai from Xi’an Jiaotong University, the chair of the conference, presided over the opening ceremony. Ms. Xiangli Meng, Deputy Director of the International Office of Xi’an Jiaotong University, attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the university. Professor Tassos G. Karayiannis from Brunel University, the honorary chair of the conference, gave a welcome speech.

The conference mainly includes 5 types of communication formats: 9 keynote speeches, 20 invited talks, 21 special reports, 92 oral presentations, and 14 poster presentations.
