报告摘要:
Extensive use of fossil fuels in the world has caused serious consequences for greenhouse gas emission and resource depletion. In order to achieve the strategic targets of carbon peak and carbon neutral, urgent actions are required to use more renewable energy resources for clean energy and to capture CO2 for reuse. This seminar will cover recent development on green hydrogen production from renewable biomass resources through: (1) advanced biomass gasification for production of hydrogen-rich producer gas, (2) producer gas processing to convert methane and CO to hydrogen and CO2, (3) combined water-gas shift reaction and hydrogenation for hydrogen storage.
CO2 capture technologies will be briefly introduced, while focus will be on carbonation-calcination looping as well as CO2 absorption by aqueous monoethanolamine (MEA) solution. Both of these technologies will be able to generate a stream of CO2 with high purity thus providing opportunity for CO2 reuse in chemical synthesis and liquid fuel production.

Shusheng Pang(庞树声)教授,2002年起任职于新西兰坎特伯雷大学,现任该校化学工程与工艺系教授、木材技术研究中心主任,2011年被接纳为新西兰工程院院士和国际木材科学院院士。
庞院士长期致力于生物质利用和木材加工技术的开发与研究。研究领域包括:生物质能源,生物质的转化技术、新的木塑复合材料,生物高分子材料、废旧塑料再应用和木材干燥与加工技术。近年来,先后承担和领导了新西兰国家(FRST/MBIE)基金资助重大项目四项。其研究的双循环流动床生物质蒸汽气化技术可产生富氢合成气体,以用于发电,合成液体燃料或制氢。目前领导的团队正在开发生物质气化,生物质制氢气及CO2 捕集和再利用技术。
庞院士被邀请为国际学术期刊Energies、Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery和Maderas Ciencia Y Tecnologia的编委,被5个国际期刊邀请发表专题综述,并任多个国际学术机构的科学委员会委员。近年,在Chemical Reviews、Green Chemistry、Chemical Engineering Journal、Fuel等国际期刊上发表论文200余篇,出版专著5本。截至目前, 庞院士所发表学术论文被引用达8200多次, 其论文的Google h-index达到43。
