报告摘要:Dynamical behaviours of coupled flickering buoyant diffusion flames have gained increasing attentions in recent years but not sufficiently understood. In this talk, a few theoretical advances made in my research group will be presented. First, we established a vortex-dynamical scaling theory to substantiate that the vortex rings generated by buoyancy are responsible for the flicker and their shedding frequency well correlates with the flicker frequency. Second, we computationally reproduced various flickering modes of multiple buoyant diffusion flames and discovered that the interaction between vortex rings, particularly through the vorticity reconnection mechanism, is responsible for the dynamical behaviours of flames. Third, we experimentally established a unified nomogram for the dynamical behaviours of a triple-flame system.
报告人简介:张鹏,香港理工大学副教授,于2010年获得普林斯顿大学机械与航空航天工程博士学位, 2010-2012年普林斯顿大学燃烧能源中心、康奈尔大学博士后,2012年入职香港理工大学助理教授,2017年晋升副教授。张博士目前的研究领域是液滴和喷雾动力学, 理论化学动力学,超音速燃烧和火焰动力学。美国宇航协会高级会员(Senior Member AIAA)和国际燃烧学会、美国物理学会、化学学会会员。曾获中国科学院、普林斯顿大学、香港理工大学颁发的多个科研奖项。先后在PNAS, Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Physical Review Fluids, Physics of Fluids, Combustion and Flame, Proceedings of Combustion Institute等国际顶级期刊发表论文40余篇。
