报告摘要:
Studying of turbulent combustion is a core subject in sophisticated designs of the next-generation engines for power generation and propulsion. However, turbulent combustion involves multiple physical and chemical processes that interact with turbulence flows in a highly nonlinear manner over a wide spectrum of spatio-temporal scales, a fact, also known as the “multi-scale & multi-physics” nature, presents formidable challenges in fully understanding turbulent combustion. Laser-based diagnostics with its unique features of in-situ, non-intrusive, high temporal and spatial resolutions become an inevitable choice with great potentials. This report gives a brief summary of a recent diagnostic development in promoting capabilities for measurements of vector/scalars fields with higher spatio-temporal dimensionalities. A special emphasis was paid to discuss how advanced measurements can be utilized and promotes the understanding of turbulent combustion with targeted applications in e.g. aero-engine combustors.
报告人简介:
Dr. Zhou is currently an associated professor at Southern University of Science and Technology, China. He obtained a PhD degree at Lund University, Sweden and worked as a postdoc at the Sandia National Laboratories, U.S. He is an awardee of the National Talent Program, the Bernard Lewis Fellowship by the International Combustion Institute, the outstanding student abroad by China Scholarship Council. His research interests reside in studying of turbulent combustion using advanced laser-based diagnostics, and he served as section chair in both the 37th and the 38th International Symposium on Combustion for colloquiums of turbulent combustion and combustion diagnostics.
