讲座主题1 (Invited Lecture)：Advances in Performance and Modelling of Centrifugal Compressors (离心压缩机性能及模化前沿进展)

内容简介：Centrifugal compressors are the most common high-speed turbomachinery stage. Millions are produced each year for turbochargers and other applications including gas compression, aircraft cabin cooling, microturbines and refrigeration. These compressors are challenging to design because of structural limits and complex unsteady 3D flows that are often transonic. Optimising overall energy systems for efficiency demands higher compressor performance and a wider stable operating range. This lecture gives an overview of the context and basic design of centrifugal compressors before focusing on recent enhancements in aerodynamic performance and stability, including vaned and vaneless diffuser treatments and understanding interactions with inlet guide vanes.

讲座主题2：Opportunities for Study and Research at Queen’s University Belfast(在QUB的学习和科研机会)

内容简介：This is a promotional talk to encourage Bachelors, Masters or PhD students to come to QUB for a time. It is not just limited to turbomachinery or engineering students, but could be of interest to a broad range of students. QUB is keen to encourage international students to come to QUB for a time, so this talk is to make students aware of the opportunities to study and research at QUB.

讲座主题3：Reviewing and Revising Papers – Perspectives of a Review Chair and Editor (从编委及评审主席角度看论文评审修改过程)

内容简介：This talk is an extension of the talk which IGTI asked Prof. Stephen Spence to prepare for their student committee about 5 years ago. It was very well received because it helped students to understand the review process and how to interpret reviewer comments, and increased their chances of publication. This includes an exercise where the students have to look at some reviews and make a recommendation for a paper. Besides, it is helpful for the students to understand how to get their papers from conference standard to journal standard.

Stephen Spence教授简介：Stephen Spence任英国贝尔法斯特女王大学教授、叶轮机械与流体机械国际权威期刊ASME Journal of Turbomachinery副主编，曾任国际燃气轮机学会（IGTI）叶轮机械委员会主席等重要学术职务，是活跃在热机与流机前沿研究领域的国际著名学者。培养出多名包括中国留学生在内的博士生。Professor Stephen Spence received his Bachelors degree and his PhD from Queen's University Belfast. He has been working in the area of radial turbomachinery for 25 years with various industrial collaborators, particularly international turbocharger manufacturers. Prof Spence is a past Chair of the IGTI Turbomachinery Committee and Associate Editor of the ASME Journal of Turbomachinery. He currently serves on the technical organizing committees for the IMechE Turbocharger Conference and the European Turbomachinery Conference. He leads the turbomachinery research group at Queen's University with ten PhD students and research fellows, which includes Chinese PhD students and Visiting Researchers.
